NBC has picked up the drama series Windfall, about a group of 19 friends who share in a $386 million lottery win. The project, originally developed for (but passed on by) Fox, stars Luke Perry (Beverly Hills, 90210), Jason Gedrick (Boomtown), Sarah Wynter (24) and D.J. Cotrona (Skin).

Premise: A crusading L.A. DA sets his sights on a porn king as romance blossoms between their teen kids, setting up a modern-day `Romeo and Juliet' scenario framed by politics and money. Despite its promising story and rock-solid performances, `Skin' was among the first casualties of the 2003-04 season.
