Dancing with the Stars is heading for the rink.
ABC and BBC Worldwide Productions are discussing the creation of a figure skating version of Dancing, a network rep told TVGuide.com
While development is still in the early stages, both companies hope to import a BBC format in which celebrities train to perform ice-skating routines. BBC ...

Kristy Swanson says it's not true: She did not assault boyfriend LloydEislers ex-wife and she tells TV Guide that she and Eisler are willing to take lie-detector tests to prove it.The night before Fathers Day, the Skating with Celebrities champ was arrested by Kingston, Ontario, cops on a complaint filed by Marcia OBrien alleging Swanson deliberately caused her harm, Swanson says.Basically, Lloyd is in the middle of a custody fight with his ex, Swanson says. He wants 50/50 custody and the right to bring his two kids to L.A. for visits. Thats their deal; I dont get involved. Swanson, last seen inAnna Nicole Smith drag on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, did get involved when she and new baby Magnus went to OBriens house along with Eisler to pick up his children for a pre-arranged visit. According to Swanson, the brouhaha started when OBrien wouldnt leave the van after her children were settled in. Ma...

Kristy Swanson with Chris Noth, Law & Order: Criminal Intent
Last seen flying around the ice — and cracking her chin — on Skating with Celebrities, new mom Kristy Swanson returns to TV with her feet on dry land and you might say her head in the clouds. Swanson is playing an Anna Nicole Smith type named Lorelei Mailer on tonight's Law & Order: Criminal Intent (9 pm/ET, on NBC). Swanson talks to us about channeling Smith, returning to work post-baby, and those pesky rumors about her love life with skating pro Lloyd Eisler.
TV Guide: Congratulations on your new baby. What's his

Todd Bridges, Everybody Hates Chris
It takes Diff'rent Strokes to move the world, and nobody knows that better than Todd Bridges. Tonight, he begins a recurring gig as a crazed ex-military man named Monk on Everybody Hates Chris (8 pm/ET, on the CW), so we had to see what the former Willis Drummond is talkin' 'bout these days.

Tara Lipinski visits Malcolm in the Middle
Olympic gold-medalist Tara Lipinski expands her TV repertoire even further when she throws Malcolm's brother Reese for a (toe) loop on this weekend's Malcolm in the Middle (Sundays at 7 pm/ET). TVGuide.com talked to the 24-year-old cutie about her latest small-screen venture, the racy film role she bailed on and how she almost went Skating with Celebrities.
TVGuide.com: Tell me about your Malcolm in the Middle role. Who are you playing, what's she about...?Tara Lipinski: I play Carrie, who's this quirky and earthy antifur, antimeat vegetarian type. It was a really fun to play her, so different than anything I've done before. On the show, I think Reese (Justin Berfield) is all abou

Christy Carlson Romano, The Cutting Edge 2
In 1992's The Cutting Edge, Moira Kelly's ice-cold skating queen reluctantly partnered with D. B. Sweeney's fallen hockey star to pursue Olympic gold — but also find love — as a pairs team. Fourteen years later, ABC Family's The Cutting Edge 2: Going for the Gold (premiering Sunday at 7 pm/ET, following an airing of the original) finds Kate and Doug's way-older-than-14-(but-deal-with-it) daughter, Jackie, lamenting her own shattered ice dreams, only to eventually join with Alex, an in-line skater, to seek Winter Games glory. Playing young Ms. Dorsey in this follow-up is Christy Carlson Romano, with whom TVGuide.com traded Qs and As.

Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke, Dancing with the Stars
Question: I think for ABC's next edition of Dancing with the Stars, they should have all-celebrity teams and have them coached by a professional dancer. It would be a lot more fun to have inexperienced celebrities who don't know each other teamed as partners to see how well they perform. And if ABC doesn't ditch all the fluff in this show (C'mon, two hours long? Please!) I won't watch it. (I basically TiVo it now and skip most of it anyways, but it's still a time killer.)
Answer: If ever a show was made for the DVR era, it's Dancing with the Stars. Those last few installments were painfully stretched out — you're not kidding. (Watching in real time was never an option.) But I can't agree with your proposal to "fix" what ain't broken. Part of the appeal of Dancing with the Stars (and to a much lesser degree, Skating with Celebrities) is in watching these quasi-famous folks learn the moves by dancing alongside pros, who can challenge them to raise their game, which in the best instances

Lloyd Eisler and Kristy Swanson, Skating with Celebrities
Last week, actress Kristy Swanson and Olympic medalist Lloyd Eisler saw their on-the-ice partnership result in a championship on Fox's Skating with Celebrities, as they edged out sportscaster Jillian Barberie and pro John Zimmerman. While Swanson balked at discussing her and Eisler's reported off-rink romance — "I don't really want to get into my personal life," she deferred — everything else was fair game in this TVGuide.com Q&A.
TVGuide.com: Wasn't there a gossip item weeks ago that Jillian Barberie and her partner had won Skating with Celebrities, and it leaked out because there would be hubbub since she had training as a kid...?Kristy Swanson: I know that ever since we shot the last episode, we had to keep [the outcome] a secret. There were photographs of us wearing the medals and holding the trophies, and the producers were afraid that it could get

Skating with Celebrities Well, as soon as Jillian Barberie fell during her free-skate routine with John Zimmerman, I knew it was over. That was really too bad, because I was rooting for them. But let's back this thang up to the beginning. The hour (again, this could have all been decided in 15 minutes, but that's a pointless argument) started off with the two final pairs dancing their favorite routines. Jillian and John performed to that Pink song, which was a good choice for them; Kristy and Lloyd skated to Edwin McCain's "I'll Be." I don't know — this time around their performance had that extra something, that extra je ne sais quoi. Just an observation.
Then we were treated to ice capades-lite when the e
