Cable network FX has built a name for itself with daring drama series such as The Shield and Nip/Tuck. But American Horror Story — Glee cocreator Ryan Murphy's new "psychosexual" (his word) drama kicks it up more than a few notches. Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton play a couple whose marriage is already in trouble when they move into a house with a history of mayhem and find themselves involved with sexually provocative ghosts (think rubber suits and French-maid outfits) and a basement decorated in wall-to-wall carnage. We talked with FX Network president John Landgraf about the challenge of bringing such a bold project to ad-supported TV.

FX has ordered a new animated comedy series from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia writer/producers David Hornsby, Scott Marder and Rob Rosell, the cable network announced Thursday.
The series, titled Unsupervised, centers on two best friends trying to survive their teenage years and do the right thing without any parental supervision. The series will premiere in January and be paired with FX's other animated comedy, Archer.

The Shield creator Shawn Ryan and Criminal Minds' Simon Mirren have teamed up for a crime drama pilot at CBS, Deadline reports.
The untitled procedural tells the story of genetic scientist who learns he has a psychopath gene but uses it to help the FBI catch killers. The premise is based on the work of James Fallon, a University of California, Irvine professor who discovered he was genetically linked to string of serial murderers.
