By now, the image of Sarah Jessica Parker in her flowing, silver Nina Ricci gown at the Sex and the City premiere has circulated through just about every media outlet around the globe. Yet, despite how glam the actress looked, she's now suffering morning-after headaches about the dress's exclusivity, and feels duped by the fashion house that provided it for her big night. The dress, as it turns out, had been worn before(!). To make matters worse, the dress' designer, Olivier Theyskens, accompanied the frock for its first outing, on socialite Lauren Davis Santo Domingo, earlier in May. A photo of them together on a red carpet has been on Style.com.Parker told the New York Times that Theyskens assured her that the dress had not been worn before. While she noted that dress issues are not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, the relationship between Hollywood and fashion is serious business. "My affection for the dress hasn't changed," she explained, "but what they did was so shor...

HBO has hired a top TV talent agent to help find the pay cable networks next big hit. Sue Naegle, most recently a partner and co-head of the television department at United Talent Agency, is taking the job as president of HBO Entertainment and will oversee all series programming and specials. As an agent, Naegle put together the deal for Six Feet Under (one of HBOs most acclaimed hits) and also brought the network its upcoming Southern vampire series, True Blood. Naegle replaces longtime HBO exec Carolyn Strauss, who left the network. While HBO has remained enormously profitable, it hasnt generated the kind of buzzworthy hits that viewers have come to expect from the network that brought them The Sopranos and Sex and the City. Roses are played, violets are lameSex and the City, you are my dame.In the 10 years since HBOs landmark ode to Manhattans Manolo Blahniked man-eaters debuted, Ive quit drinking, smoking and shoe shopping (almost). Im far from Amish, but still, Carrie and company would be so ashamed of me. The one indulgence I refuse to give up, however, is my raging addiction to TVs ultimate four-play.And thanks to the gigantic, pink-velvet encased Sex and the City: The Complete Series, I can now count on endless DVD booty calls. In fact, just this past weekend, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and I all had a good old time. Twice. Yep, two seasons in three days. How I didnt spontaneously develop a vagina is a mystery, considering the sheer amount of girl power popping off the screen. Yet, going back to the beginning, I was reminded that Sexs sexies werent always so up-with-estrogen! The pilot is a much darke...

Andrew McCarthy by Nicole Rivelli/NBC
Jeers to Lipstick Jungle for miscasting Andrew McCarthy as Joe Bennett, the billionaire who romances fashion designer Victory Ford (Lindsay Price). In Sex and the City scribe Candace Bushnells excruciatingly self-derivative new NBC dramedy, Mr. Bennett seems like a Mr. Big wannabe. But with his diffident, charisma-free performance, ex-Brat Packer McCarthy (Pretty in Pink) seems more like Mr. Medium-Size.

Though he has settled his beef over payment with Candace Bushnell, Clifford Streit, Bushnell's ex-manager aka the inspiration for Carrie Bradshaw's gay pal is shopping around Unbecoming Stanford, a tell-all about the HBO hit's early days. Among the books revelations, the New York Daily News says, is which of the on-screen couples also hooked up off-screen (a bombshell that promises to have present-day repercussions); why there was so much Sturm und Drang surrounding Kim Cattrall ("A natural comedienne... the camera went right to her"); and which Hollywood hottie Darren Star pegged as having no future (answer: Ashton Kutcher). Jack Mackenroth, Project Runway
In one of the most emotional Project Runway (Wednesdays at 10 pm/ET on Bravo) episodes ever, Jack Mackenroth withdrew from the competition after developing a potentially dangerous staph infection. The good-natured 38-year-old menswear designer spoke to us about his sudden departure, his Sex and the City movie cameo and his new reality-show romance.
TVGuide.com: First, let me say how bummed I am about your leaving the show.Jack Mackenroth: Not as bummed as me! [Laughs]
TVGuide.com: Can you walk me through the sequence of events? What happened? Jack: Basically, it seems like a week but it’s only a day, tops. The day before, I had this bump in my nose and I thought, "This is weird." The next morning, I woke up, and my lip was really puffy. The progression was so rapid that I thought, "I know what this is." Twice before, long ago, I had a very antibio

Skeet Ulrich in Jericho by Cliff Lipson/CBS
Just a thought: If the strike lasts much longer, do you think CBS' Big Brother house has room for all of us? I joke, of course, but I also fear that if things don't get resolved soon, it's going to be a long, cold winter indeed for fans of good old everyday regular non-reality TV.In the last few days, weve seen cliff-hanger episodes of Desperate Housewives and Heroes that felt like season finales, and for all we know, thats what they might be, if production doesnt resume early in the new year for the back half of their seasons. For the first month of the writers strike, viewers didnt feel much pain (except for fans of late-night comedy, the first casualty) because we were in a sweeps month chock-full of original episodes. Life went on as usual. Thats about to end. There are scattered episodes of many series yet to air in December, and a few leftovers for early 2008. But come the new year, the TV landscapes going to start looking mighty diffe...
