I loved all of your SAG ...

Question: I loved all of your SAG red-carpet interviews. There was never an uncomfortable moment and you talked about the important stuff: TV shows. I just wanted to give kudos.

Answer: Thanks for that, Suzanne. Despite the less-than-ideal conditions — rain, chilly temps, a second assassination attempt made against me by a certain frenemy (and I use that term very loosely) — I had a blast and a half. But if I had to pick one highlight, it would be my interview with the always hilarious Rainn Wilson. If you've already seen it, I strongly suggest you give it a second look. Ausiello Hits the Red Carpet

Hollywood was all abuzz last evening as actors near and far gathered for what has proven to be the biggest awards show of the year — the 2008 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Beloved TV Guide correspondent Michael Ausiello was right there on the red carpet for all the action, interviewing everyone and anyone worth mentioning. Personally, we were big fans of the Rainn Wilson interview where he breaks the news that costar Angela Kinsey is with child, but really, nothing beats his arts-and-crafts discussion with Jenna Fischer! How the Stars Got Ready for the SAG Awards

The Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills was the place to be for SAG swag last Friday through Sunday. With gifts including a L'Oreal Paris goodie box, on-site manicures and makeup makeovers, Rembrandt teeth-whitening products, bottles of Moet & Chandon champagne, Guitar Hero 3 video-game sets, and eyewear bling from Ilori Luxury Sunglasses, the celebs came out for a day of fun freebies and pampering in the comfort of the hotel's suites. Debra Messing had the right idea by stopping in early Friday afternoon with husband and Damages writer Daniel Zelman. By avoiding the crowds, Messing got one-on-one attention at the Boiron suite. The homeopathic medicine company is a favorite of Messing's, who lauded the brand's Oscillococcinum flu medication as, "Something I can't live without!" Messing also picked up a pair of Persol sunglasses at the Ilori suite, while her husband collected Guitar Hero 3 for the couple's young son. Though Messing was wearing no makeup ("I just had a facial," sh... read more

Day-Lewis Dedicates SAG Win to Heath Ledger, a "Unique, Perfect" Actor

Heath Ledger, whose life was tragically cut short this past week under yet-to-be-determined circumstances, not only was remembered in a montage of late actors at Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards, but he was also acknowledged by the estimable Daniel Day-Lewis. Accepting the award for best actor in a film (There Will Be Blood) and reflecting on his ongoing discovery as a performer, Day-Lewis said, "There are many actors in this room tonight… who have given me that sense of regeneration, and Heath Ledger gave it to me. In Monster's Ball, that character he created seemed to be almost like an unformed being retreating from himself, his father, his life… and yet we wanted to follow him. It was unique." Likewise, Day-Lewis called Ledger's work in Brokeback Mountain "unique" and "perfect," and at the culmination of his applauded, emotional speech, he said, "I'd like to dedicate this to Heath Ledger." It was a moving and special moment within an efficient if not slightly c... read more
