Scandal: Who Won't Survive the Explosive Season Finale?

Khandi Alexander, Nazanin Boniadi

[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Thursday night's episode of Scandal. Read at your own risk!]

Scandal plans to end its third season with a bang — literally.

After OPA dismantled B613 just as Maya Pope's (Khandi Alexander) assassination plot came together, POTUS & Co. are forced to work with the enemy during Thursday's episode, calling in former B613 command Rowan (Joe Morton) for help. Of course, Jake (Scott Foley) is pissed and tells Olivia (Kerry Washington) that she's making a big mistake. For once, he was... read more

Got any Scandal scoop? — Christie
It sounds like Maya's plan to target the president with her bomb will come to fruition. In other words, expect an explosive season finale! Making matters worse, we hear the finale takes place on Election Day, which means that the lives of even more people, including campaign manager Olivia, will be in jeopardy. Anyone want to guess the victim(s)?

Do you know why Col. Glenn Talbot is joining Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.— Pauley
With Coulson & Co. on the run, Talbot will be tasked with tracking them down. And it doesn't sound like he has friendly plans for our heroes should he catch them. "Longtime Marvel fans know that he's been a nemesis to anything that's organized," executive producer Jeph Loeb tells me. "I love the fact that [Adrian Pasdarreferred to him as a world-class jerk. [Our] Talbot continues that tradition."

Weekend TV: Good Wife, Midwife, Walking Dead and Helix Finales

Julianna Margulies, Alan Cumming

In a sudden, shocking (and heaven be praised, unspoiled) twist, this tremendous fifth season of CBS's The Good Wife has shifted from the dueling-firms spectacle of Alicia-vs-Will to the gut-wrenching reality of Alicia — and everyone else in her universe — grieving Will. Her former lover and boss-turned-rival (a succulent role for Josh Charles, who will be terribly missed) was the victim of a courtroom shooting, which in a savage irony was perpetrated by the vulnerable young client (Hunter Parrish) Will was busily defending. Will died doing what he loved best, you might say with his boots on — although one of his shoes was blown off in the violent melee — and now it's time to mourn.

Thursday TV: Meloni Tackles Comedy as Jack

Chris Meloni

I've barely adjusted to The Goldbergs mining the 1980s for comic nostalgia — seems not that long ago that Geraldo Rivera opened Al Capone's empty vault, and that's a subplot in an early April episode — and now comes Fox's Surviving Jack (Thursday, 9:30/8:30c), a coming-of-age family sitcom set in the not-so-distant past of the 1990s. (Can't wait for the arc about Y2K anxiety.)

Scandal: Jake Ballard Was Never Meant to Be a Hero

Scott Foley

To say that Scandal fans are very vocal about the ABC political fixer drama would be an understatement. But those devoted Gladiators took things to a whole new level after Thursday's shocking episode, in which Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) brutally killed James Novak (Dan Bucatinsky) in order to protect the Republic.

Scandal's Jeff Perry: Cyrus can't let this death be in vain

Viewers were distraught that Jake had seemingly crossed a line by killing a character — and two other women — that they had come to care about. Even worse, this meant that fans' beloved Jake, who had become a love interest for Scandal's fearless leader Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), had gone to the dark side! Oh no!

But let's get something straight: read more
