Rosie O'Donnell Gets Her Own Radio Show

Rosie O'Donnell

Rosie O'Donnell will have a new place to share her view — this time on the radio.

The former talk show host and View moderator will begin hosting a daily radio show for Sirius XM radio this fall, according to The Associated Press. O'Donnell's two-hour show — which she will broadcast from a studio being built at her New York home — will focus on news and entertainment and occasionally feature guests.

O'Donnell said she was approached by the company after a recent appearance on talk-radio legend Howard Stern's Sirius show. "[Stern's] been very encouraging," she said. "After I did his show, they called and asked if I was interested. I don't really listen to radio, so I started thinking about it and listening. I asked if they could possibly do it at my house because that would really make it convenient for me with four kids, and they said yes, so I was like, 'Wow. Let's try that.'"

Rosie O'Donnell Takes a Blog Break

Rosie O'Donnell by Chris Gordon/ WireImage.com

Rosie O'Donnell, that persistent TV personality whose brief gig on The View gave fans plenty to chatter about and left co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck in tears, is ducking out of the public eye — at least for the moment.O'Donnell informed the world that she's taking a break from her (obsessively detailed and freeform) blog — on the blog itself:"i am taking off augustin blog-ville2 c if i can rosie unpluggedhappy summer peepspeace in peace out"According to People, O'Donnell said she was going to " take the month off and then see what it feels like to come back to it.... I'm wondering if I can do it. Every time I watch [the TV show] Intervention, I'm like, 'They need this show for people who need to get off their computers!' My real addiction is the computer and the blog."But we'll be seeing more of O'Donnell sooner or later — earlier this week, our old buddy Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly reported that O'Donnell is in talks with NBC for a primetime variety show.... read more

Rosie O'Donnell Named Lousiest Lay Ever

Rosie O'Donnell by Gary Gershoff/WireImage.com

Maxim.com has just released its list of the worst sex scenes in history, and A) whew! None of mine are on it, and B) Nip/Tuck guest star Rosie O'Donnell's roll in the hay with Julian McMahon came in at No. 1. Elisabeth Hasselbeck's old sparring partner shouldn't feel too bad, though — he's in great company. Jennifer Lopez came in at No. 4 for her Gigli romp with then-fiancé Ben Affleck, and Sharon Stone landed at No. 8 for her hookup with Joe Pesci in Casino. So come on, out with it: What's the most disturbing nookie you've ever witnessed on screen? — Ben Katner read more

Rosie O'Donnell by Jesse Grant/WireImage.com

Now it's official: An NBC spokesperson has confirmed for me exclusively (and, by proxy, you guys) that Rosie O'Donnell will not be playing the crankypants soccer coach on Friday Night Lights this fall. Instead, getting her kicks, as it were, opposite Kyle Chandler will be... well, you know who I think it should be. But who do you see in what sounds like a role made for scene-stealing? Also, are you as bummed as I am that Rosie's not playing ball on TV's best drama series? Sound off below! read more

Keri Russell is to Michael ...

Question: Keri Russell is to Michael Ausiello what Tom Cruise is to Rosie O'Donnell. N'est-ce pas?

Answer: I'm horrible at word problems, but I think you're suggesting that I'm going to get my own talk show soon and Keri Russell will mow my lawn shirtless? Did I get it right? What do I win?

Premise: A popular daily talk show that largely mixed high-profile celebrity guests and music performances (including numbers from Broadway shows, one of Rosie's passions). The multi-Emmy-winning O'Donnell was a gracious interviewer who was well informed about (though with a tendency to fawn over) her guests. Among them: Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant, Martha Stewart, Steve Martin, J.K. Rowling and Mary Tyler Moore.
