Joseph Barbera, half of the Hanna-Barbera animation team that gave us the misadventures of Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, Scooby-Doo and so many other memorable charcters, died on Monday of natural causes. Per Variety, DreamWorks Animation is developing a CGI feature based on Mr. Peabody & Sherman, the time-traveling duo that first boarded their WABAC time machine in 1959, as part of the Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoon series. The maiden theatrical voyage for the genius dog and his "pet boy" ? boy, did this item suddenly adopt inappropriately homoerotic undertones ? will be helmed by Rob Minkoff (The Lion King, Stuart Little).
