I am trying to get my hands on some scoops for next season of CSI: Miami. — Jennifer
TIM: How about some insight into new series regular Eddie Cibrian's arrival? We haven't heard much about him lately. Cibrian's Jesse Cardoza, a transfer from Los Angeles, gets taken hostage on his very first day. During the crisis, he performs a heroic deed that requires him to take off his shirt, as heroic deeds often do. But Cardoza's first day won't come until Season 8's second episode: The Sept. 21 season premiere will flash back to 1997, when we'll learn about his past connection to Horatio.
Is there any word on a Season 4 premiere for Brothers & Sisters? — Dave
MATT: Yes, ABC (finally) set a Sept. 27 return for the Walkers. Among the storylines you can watch for this fall: Kitty and Robert are still...

Imagine that Keith Partridge grew up and was contacted by his long-lost daughter. That's not exactly the premise for this comedy, but it's close. David Cassidy portrays an aging pop star who was once in a band with his brother (played by David's half brother Patrick). His daughter, Ruby (Alexa Vega), shows up out of the blue, and now irresponsible David needs suburban dad Patrick's help raising her. Shaun Cassidy is the show's creator and an executive producer, keeping it all in the family.

When last we saw Tommy Gavin (a very long 19 months ago), he was sitting next to his dead dad in the stands of a minor-league ballpark. He'll bury Michael Gavin tonight with his characteristic flair, then get on with his life. Priority No. 1: Deal with that Section 8 procedure Chief Feinberg has initiated against him. Why, then, is Feinberg acting so nice? Meanwhile, Colleen has a new boyfriend she doesn't want Tommy to know about, and so does Janet. Michael J. Fox guest stars.

When will Kim Bauer be coming back to 24? And will it have anything to do with the bio-weapon Jack has been exposed to? — Yong
MATT: When I asked Kiefer Sutherland about the nature of Kim's latest encore (slated for mid-April), he said, "Something has happened to Jack, and it's he who asks for her — normally it's the other away around." Kiefer went on to call the father-daughter reunion "very human and real ... a part of the show I'm excited for the audience to see." So your theory sounds about right. Just don't expect the now-married Kim to have Pony Boy at her side; her Season 5 romance apparently didn't take.
Are we ever going to see the Scavo twins on Desperate Housewives again? I love those goofy bastards. — Rachel
MICKEY: No word on Dumb or Dumber, but if it's adolescent angst you're hankering for, get a load of this: Another Housewife will soon ...

Better late than never. An FX spokesperson confirms that Rescue Me has finally been renewed for a 22-episode fifth season. Production is slated to get under way in the spring, give or take a few months (or years) depending on how this whole writers'-strike thing shakes out. [Gulp] The 22 episodes will air in two separate cycles, although FX isn't saying when the first batch will debut. It's not clear what took the cable net so long to pick up one of its flagship programs. Maybe they were as unimpressed with Season 4 as the rest of us? Eh, it was probably just some pesky red tape. Regardless, I'm glad Tommy and Co. will be back. A subpar Rescue Me is still better than 50 percent of the crap that's out there. You with me? I think you are....
