Paul Reubens on Pee-Wee's Comeback: I'll Still Be Doing This 30 Years From Now

The iconic grey suit and red bowtie have returned: Pee-wee Herman is back and heading to HBO for a special filmed presentation of his Broadway show, The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway.

The 90-minute comedy show is not unlike an extended version of his Emmy-winning Pee-wee's Playhouse series, which ran for four years on CBS. Pee-wee ran in Los Angeles a year ago and is currently playing in New York's Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where it has been met with favorable reviews.

"It's cyclical," Reubens said at Friday's Television Critics Association's winter preview sessions. Reubens appeared via satellite from New York in full Pee-wee attire. "If you wait long enough... read more

Watercooler: Cleveland Shows Why Niecy Nash Needs a Series

Can someone please get Niecy Nash a sitcom?

Seriously, the woman is being wasted.  Not that it wasn't swell to have her voicing Donna's kid-ditching sister Janet on The Cleveland Show last night, but that was just a guest spot and the real-life Nash is too fabulously animated to be relegated to cartoonery. She needs to be front and center, in the flesh and on TV on a weekly basis. And preferably in something better than Do Not Disturb.

One would think after her run on Dancing with the Stars and Reno 911! that someone would have found Miss Niecy a proper vehicle by now. She's paid her dues and proven to be a fan favorite, so why ... read more

Premise: The adventures of inept officers at the Washoe County Sheriff's Department play out in this improvised series, which pokes fun at police reality shows. Led by the sexually ambiguous Jim Dangle, who likes to wear short shorts, his officers include the morose, medicated Trudy Wiegel, sexpot Clementine Johnson and quiet but quick-tempered Travis Junior. Originally created for the Fox network, the series lay dormant for two years before Comedy Central picked it up.
