Lavish, sudsy sequel to `The Bastard' charts Philip Kent's journey through the American Revolution and its aftermath. A host of familiar TV actors crop up as icons of the period, including William Daniels as John Adams (a role Daniels played to the hilt in the 1972 movie musical `1776'). The miniseries was followed by `The Seekers.' Based on the novel by John Jakes.
