Youngsters under age 16 answer questions posed by viewers in the quiz show that wouldn't die: `Kids' debuted on radio in 1940 and moved to TV in 1949. Other versions aired in the '70s and '80s, `Quiz Kids Challenge' in 1990 and '91. One radio panelist, 12-year-old James Watson, went on to codiscover the double-helix structure of DNA. Another, 9-year-old Robert Strom, soon graduated to `The $64,000 Question,' where he earned much more than the $100 savings bonds that `Quiz' kids won.
