Michael Rosenthal, a humanities professor at Columbia University, discusses his biography of former Columbia president Nicholas Murray Butler, “Nicholas Miraculous.” Butler, who ran Columbia from 1902 to 1945, was also the president of the Carnegie Endowment for Peace from 1925 to 1945; and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931.
