"Rock N Runway" Season 5, Episode 11

It's down to the final five folks! This week, the tension was building from the moment the designers switched up their models. Soon after, they were given their two-fold challenge. The first part was that they'd be designing for each other. I immediately got excited because in previous seasons it was always fun to watch the drama unfold as the designers created garments for each other and it was always humorous to watch them walk the runway. The second aspect was that each outfit would be inspired by a specific musical genre. As if they were chosen at random, Suede had to dress Jerell rock n roll, Kenley had to dress Leanne hip-hop, Korto had to dress Suede as punk, Jerell had to do Kenley as pop and Leanne had to design Korto to be country. The fact that Kenley was pop, Leanne was hip-hop and Korto was country was all too perfect and I couldn't wait to see what would be in store for them. After the usual trip to Mood, the designers began creating their garments. Kenley chose a floral print that screamed anything but hip-hip and none of the designers wanted to tell her how off she was. When Tim questioned her outfit as not being "over-sized," the two got in a bit of a tiff. Why oh why would you ever offend Tim Gunn? In response to her attitude, Tim told Kenley she needed to listen and remove the sarcasm. Well said. This week was by far the greatest runway show of the season and LL Cool J served as the guest judge. I was shocked to hear Kenley call Leanne a big fat poser who wasn't selling her look. Maybe if she hadn't made, as Heidi called them, "the most unflattering pants she'd ever seen," Leanne could've rocked the outfit a bit more. LL and the judges thought Korto's design for Suede to be punk was right on the money but unfortunately felt that Suede's rock 'n roll look for Jerell lacked oomph. "Korto's got a whole lotta junk in the trunk and to really tame that down and make it country we'll see what Leanne can do," said Jerell. She actually did pretty well though her look was perhaps a little too subtle. Overall it was unanimous that Jerell nailed his popstar look that surprisingly worked on Kenley or should I say, Kenley Spears. The outfit actually made Kenley look like she was having fun as opposed to the usual sourpuss face she always has on during judging. In the end Korto was victorious leaving Suede and Kenley in the bottom two. As much as I wanted Kenley gone we all knew Suede had to be auf'd. Will anyone miss Suede's third person? Who do you think will make it to Bryant Park? Comment below! To watch more Project Runway head over to our Online Video Guide.
