We're getting down to the wire and in this week's episode not one but two designers were eliminated. And boy did the teams and previously eliminated contestants bring out the drama! So who made it one step closer to fashion week and who was auf'd? Keep reading to find out.
The episode began with Terri being 'tude-y and Kenley feeling confident, two themes that carried on throughout. When Heidi's special guests were revealed as the eliminated designers from this season who would serve as partners, Terri was not happy. They were told to create an avant garde look inspired by an astrological sign of one of the team members. The process to choose the teams was overly confusing but in the end, most seemed happy. Except for Terri of course who got stuck with Keith and I could only think karma. The two got off to a bad start when they couldn't even agree on fabric at Mood.
Back in the work room, we finally had some awesome drama. Leanne and her teammate Emily were getting pretty annoyed with Kenley who was being overly confident with her design. Even greater than that moment was when Tim checked in on Terri and Keith's design. Lacking in creativity, Tim mentioned that Keith was extremely innovative and that hopefully they'd have a great synergy together. This opened up the can of worms as the two went back and forth between Terri telling Keith not to call her "darling" and Keith telling Terri she's not the easiest person to work with. Has anyone ever seen her smile (other than when her garment is going down the runway)?
The designers soon learned that not only would two of them be eliminated, but that they'd be showing their looks at 8pm rather than midnight to a group of people at the Museum of Natural History Planetarium. Note to self, check that place out next weekend because how cool did it look?! At the party the designers got to mingle and show off their avant garde garments to the judges and past contestants such as Christian, Daniel V, Jay and Kara. Heidi didn't like the color Blayne chose as it reminded her of old women's underwear and I have to say she was on her game tonight. I also love when old contestants come back to judge because no-one knows what it's like more than them.
The runway show was pretty lack-luster in comparison to previous season's avant garde challenges. My immediate thoughts were that Blayne's looked like tissue paper, Kenley's was so odd and Korto's flowed nicely and used gorgeous colors. The judges seemed to agree. In a twist, they announced all the teams contending for the win first. The remaining teams had the lowest scores. Nina called Blayne's "the one-legged monster" and Michel Kors said it was "pooping fabric." Michael called Terri's a "voodoo princess in hell." Kenley got extremely defensive when Nina didn't understand it and I was shocked at the 'tude that came out of no-where this week. When all was said, Jerell was the winner. Does anyone agree? Maybe I missed something but I was surprised his came out on top. Blayne was eliminated, he's been due for weeks, and Terri was as well. I'm not crying over that decision by any means.
Lots to comment on, so let me know what you thought! With only 6 designers left, any predictions?
