Well tonight's challenge was certainly out of the box, or car I should say. After saying goodbye to two models, the designers headed to a rooftop to learn what the task would be. Could they be designing for a superstar?
Mariah Carey? Unfortunately some hopes were let down as they ended up in a parking garage that lead them to a row of cars which could only be Saturns. After hearing about the new Saturn View Hybrid all season we finally got to see what they were made ofliterally. The challenge was to use the car parts, which were mostly recyclable, and create an outfit of their choice. I'm not gonna lie, I actually rocked a "seatbelt" belt for many years in middle school. I was more fashion forward than I realized!
After the group ran around to gather their items they headed back to the studio where lots of smashing and tearing went on. Keith was still in denial over his previous garment. He wouldn't shut up about making an outfit this time that the judges would appreciate despite his great aesthetic in the previous weeks that they didn't seem to understand. Stella decided to go in the opposite direction than expected and make a pretty skirt. And it's only 15 minutes in and already Suede has used the word "wackadoodle" twice.
As Tim drops by to do his usual critique he informs Kenley that her model has dropped out. She is not pleased. Terri decided to make fun of Korto's jacket and Keith pulls major 'tude and pisses off his fellow designers. We also learned that Stella has a significant other named Ratbones. What else could we expect from the Lady of Leath-a. I think I'm really starting to enjoy her. Keith continued to act like a jerk by getting angry with his model for tearing her skirt. "Watch the breathing and do not sit down." May as well tell her to stop eating while you're at it.
Laura Bennett from Season 3 filled in for Nina. I heart Laura.
Rachel Zoe is also guest judge and coincidentally has a new show on Bravo. Hmm. Anyway, Jerell's is the first garment to come out and it's awesome. I love the suede look and I'm glad he's finally put something great down the runway. Has anyone noticed how Terri goes nuts when her outfits are on the runway each week? What will she do when she shows a whole collection? No real surprises as to which designs the judges favored. Korto had a hit once again. Blayne's was a miss with his awkward fitting and "car-wash skirt." Keith continued to defend his outfit by blaming everyone but himself and Michael Kors appropriately told him how it was in the real world. In the end he couldn't get past another off week and was sent packing. Leanne won with her sexy dress that was innovative yet chique.
Do you think Leanne deserved to win and Keith to leave? Comment away and check back next week for more!

And see what cast-off Keith had to say about the short fuse we saw in his episode as well as his uber-artsy tats,
