  • Amy Brenneman: Private Practice Season Finale Is Like a "Quentin Tarantino Movie" | Today's News: Our Take | 4/30/2009
All is not entirely well with the Oceanside Wellness gang as ABC's Private Practice serves up its second season finale this Thursday at 10 pm/ET. As Addison fights her feelings for married dad-to-be Noah and one of their own "betrays" the practice, pregnant Violet is thrust to a genuinely shocking set of circumstances. Amy Brenneman spoke with TVGuide.com about where her complicated shrink has been and where she is about to go.

TVGuide.com: First off, congratulations on the Season 3 pick-up. Were you concerned at all?
Amy Brenneman: Uh, no. No. Not really. It would have been odd if we didn't [get picked up].

TVGuide.com: How do you think Violet has changed since Season 1? Was there anything you had hoped for or asked for?
Brenneman: In Season 1 we met Violet at a pretty heightened point in her life, and I always thought she's not go to stay in this place of feel jilted and hysterical. I told [series creator] Shonda [Rhimes], "Listen, I will do whatever you want ... read more 18 Comments

    My Name Is Earl
    8 pm/ET NBC
A Rivera runs through it when the sitcom kicks off a two-part episode tonight. In Part 1, Geraldo Rivera guest stars as a journalist whose news show, Inside Probe, infiltrates Camden to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Crab Shack owner Ernie Belcher. Sure, it takes a good eight years for the segment to finally air, but as the Camden crew settles in to view it, it becomes all too obvious that Earl and Randy are looking like prime suspects. NASCAR racer Michael Waltrip revs up for a guest-star turn.

As his wife endures a difficult pregnancy? Josh Hopkins shared a look at the torrid twists ahead. Plus: What does he not miss about his Swingtown days?

TVGuide.com: Call me old fashioned, but I'm not really feeling the romance here in the Addison-Noah story. So sell me on it. Should I be rooting for this illicit hook-up?
Josh Hopkins: I don't know that you should be rooting for it or not, but it makes for interesting TV. It's just such a real-life situation where someone has the very best intentions, but ... read more 13 Comments
