Season 3, Episode 3
Episode Synopsis: Someone slides an envelope containing a photo of Sara and LJ under the door of Linc's hotel room. It might contain clues to their whereabouts. The Company Operative (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) in Panama City might help, too, but Linc must persuade her it's in her best interest to do so. And at Sona, Michael gets to know Whistler (Chris Vance); Lechero begins to lose confidence in his ability to shape events; and Mahone, who is in increasing need of his medications, meets the lawyer who'll defend him.

Has Lincoln's Plan Tragically Backfired? Season 3, Episode 3

Episode Recap: "Call Waiting" Yikes. I'm afraid Brad Pitt may have been down this road before. Does that box contain... nah, sweet li'l Prison Break wouldn't do that. Right? But the look on Linc's face... Maybe it was just full of Celine Dion CDs. Let's back up. So, James Whistler is wanted back on the outside because he, like, took some scientist type to a remote location on his charter boat. (I was having trouble following that if only because it was so much exposition and so soon.) What happened to the Prison Break that fed us crumbs? I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed in Sucre. He came back to Linc only to get some of the (lost) millions? I thought he was back to join Team Scofield-Burrows. Do you think we've seen the last of him, or will he resurface later to help save the day? This episode answered one burning question I had: how an inmate is notified of a visitor since there are no guards. Somehow they are expected to hear the PA speaker over all that jail-yard clamor. Great system that. "If I can't break [Whistler] out of here, you'll have to break [Sara and LJ] out of there." That was good and dramatic when Mikey said it, but the plan seems to have gone south and quick. It was sweet when Whistler said to unshowered Sofia, "Whatever you smell like, it's a significant upgrade." And then I started falling asleep. Zzzzzz. Way too early to have us caring about their tortured romance. Anyone else learning lots of Spanish, and perhaps not the most flattering kind? "Blanquito"? But T-Bag and his " patron" sucking-up makes me laugh. He's really playing the "bucky massa." Miscellaneous factoids: It's roughly June 20; Mahone's med of choice is named Varatril; the Sona barber is... um, Pistachio. I vaguely remember that "guy" from the final frames of last season, when they showed us the riffraff down in "Lost & Found." "It's a lost cause.... We can see it now." And Substitute Sara's whole "midnight-3 o'clock" thing? C'mon, Linc, I had that figured out in a jiffy! Dude was looking for a clock?! (And yes, to TVGuide.com's Qupert, those two vastly different Sara Polaroids were quite noticeable.) Final thought: I'm afraid Fichtner is being wasted. Mahone's whole "withdrawal" storyline simply isn't giving him much to do (though more than, say, Bellick). But that could all change if he gets pulled into the escape plan. Which is what, by the way? Escape by playing dead? Is that what Michael's thinking, looking out the window? For more Prison Break, check out our Online Video Guide. Premise: An engineer gets himself incarcerated to engineer the escape of his death-row brother, who was framed for killing the vice president's brother. While the setup requires a leap of faith, the drama is consistently taut as Michael Scofield succeeds, only to find himself and his fellow escapees on the lam in Season 2---and back in prison, this time in Panama, in Season 3, giving Michael another escape to engineer. In Season 4, Michael and crew were back in the U.S., chasing the nefarious Company.
