How much of a relief was it to know that Lafayette isn't dead? Of course, being chained up in a vampire's basement and watching another human get eaten alive isn't much of an alternative, but you can't have everything. And even though he hasn't been to work for a while, Lafayette probably wouldn't recognize Merlotte's if he came back tonight, especially after Maryann works the bar's usual customers into a frenzy that Sam isn't likely to forget.

Just when you thought it was safe to go out at night again, the vampire drama that generated so much fang-fare its first time out is back for a second season. It's a precise continuation of last year's cliffhanger — picking up with Sookie and Tara mid-scream in Merlotte's parking lot — so we won't have to wait to identify the body in the back of Andy's car. And that's not the only surprise in store, as Jason takes a wrong turn down a righteous path, and Sookie adjusts to Bill's new housemate.

For those who miss seeing Cristian de la Fuente waltzing around Dancing with the Stars, fret not! De la Fuente returns as Mary McCormick's on-again-off-again boyfriend, Rafael, in the second season of USA's In Plain Sight (which premieres Sunday, April 19, 10 pm/ET).
