Mad Love Boss: Judy Greer a Better Fit than Lizzy Caplan

Mad Love, Judy Greer

CBS's new romantic comedy, Mad Love, lost cast member Lizzy Caplan before the series was picked up, but executive producer Matt Tarses says her replacement, Judy Greer, is a much better fit.

Caplan signed on for a role in the pilot. Due to her commitments on the since-canceled Starz series Party Down, Caplan declined to join Mad Love as a series regular.

"Lizzy Caplan did [the pilot] as a guest role for us; she was never going to do it for the series," Tarses said Friday at the Television Critics Association winter previews. "The part, to be honest, was a little more of a part that fits... read more

2010's Best Episodes: Private Practice's Assault and Good Wife Empowerment

The Good Wife

It was a great year for TV, which made it very difficult to choose the top 25 episodes of 2010. Recalling and, in some cases, rewatching the stand-out moments was a holiday treat. We got our first glimpse of a bespectacled Clark Kent and saw Snooki pummel Angelina. We wept as Jack Shephard took his final breath and cheered as Leslie took down a mischievous rodent wreaking havoc in Pawnee. Here's the second batch of's weeklong countdown of the year's best episodes... read more

In the Season 3 premiere, Captain Watson leads a fleet of three anti-whaling ships against the wily Japanese — surely a recipe for three times the adventure. A former Norwegian whaling ship and a speedboat have joined the mission, but the Sea Shepherds still find themselves trying to evade a Japanese reconnaissance ship that has been trailing them through the Antarctic. If something doesn't change, odds are a battle will ensue.

Ghost Whisperer

Ghost Whisperer

The argument could be made that every episode of the series is a Halloween episode, but some episodes are more so than others. This episode from October is classically frightful as it borrows heavily from a horror classic — Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The book's famous Headless Horseman comes to life to haunt Melinda, and it's safe to say he's not going to want to cross over into the light. Adding more drama to the story is Melinda's fear when the book shows up at Aiden's school.

Ghost Whisperer

Ghost Whisperer

After five seasons, it's evident that the appeal of this series doesn't rest solely on the supernatural element. It also explores universal emotions and themes, especially regarding love, death and the bonds between us, and that's at the heart of this series finale. Melinda confronts a poltergeist in the hospital, and that initiates a final battle with the forces that threaten Melinda and her son. Whatever her gifts, she is a mother first and will fight for her child's life.
