“You've Dug Your Grave, Now Lie In It” Season 6, Episode 5

Dan's in grave danger, Nathan may finally achieve his NBA dream, Brooke has left her company to Victoria and Peyton is one step closer to her real dad. A lot sure did transpire on this week's chilling episode of One Tree Hill so let's get to recapping. It looks like Peyton and Lucas have set a wedding date. Peyton is ecstatic when sharing the news with her BFF but Brooke doesn't seem to share the same sentiment. Nothing is thrilling her these days so when Peyton asks her to design her wedding dress Brooke sarcastically responds, "Want the Lindsay Strauss tear-away train? It's what all the runaway brides are wearing this season." Kinda funny actually. And speaking of Lindsay this week she's back, well actually Lucas paid her a visit. Apparently the two are still working together and now that his second novel, titled "The Comet," is out, it's time to discuss his book tour. Great way for the ex to find out about Lucas' wedding plans. "I guess I was right all along about you and Peyton, but I wish you could've done this over the phone." Lindsay was pretty hurt but eventually got over it since she had always pretty much known P & L would end up together. Things were looking great for Nathan's basketball career but it was too good to be true. Did you all see this coming like I did? When Nate gets a call from the General Manager of the Fort Wayne developmental team, he flies down to take a meeting thinking that he'll finally be able to be on the court again. Well he was right about the court except for the fact that he wasn't being offered a player position, but a coaching one. Sadly Nathan's dreams weren't coming true and though he hadn't yet made a decision about the coaching offer, he'd have to break the news to Jamie who couldn't have been more proud (or adorable) of his daddy. Another predictable plot was with Peyton and Mick Wolf. Just as all signs are obviously pointing to the fact that he's her real father, Peyton finally figures it out. He's supposed to join her for dinner and dishing about P's "father" but instead stands her up. While she's anxiously awaiting Mick to confess his true identity he's actually getting wasted in a bar after having gotten his sobriety back. Still having her dark days is Brooke. She and the new girl Sam, who shoplifted from her store, surprisingly get along as they have more in common than each other realizes. Brooke confides in her therapist that she's actually jealous of Sam's carefree attitude and that perhaps she put too much into her company. She's also watching her friends move forward while she's stuck standing still. Interesting that her therapist points out how she only talks about work yet equates her friends' happiness due to their relationships. Why is she insistent on going through life alone her therapist asks? About midway through this episode it suddenly felt as though we were in a horror movie. "Today is the day Dan Scott dies and I get my Jamie back." Carrie's plan was about to come to fruition as Dan's grave was dug and Haley had been tricked into bringing Jamie to his hospice aka Carrie's house trap. Because Jamie never got to say goodbye to Quentin, Haley wanted him to be able to say goodbye to his Grandpa that they believe is dying. Just after Dan begs Carrie not to kill him and gets a nice shot to the jugular in return, Haley shows up with Jamie. She senses something is up but doesn't listen to her gut. When she walks in to find Dan taken hostage, Carrie knocks her out before she can escape. Carrie goes to Jamie's car but he doesn't let her in and instead starts running. After a wild chase involving Haley, Jamie and Carrie, Deb saves the day by smashing a bottle over her head. Luckily Deb had seen a picture of Carrie and in an "a-ha" moment, figured it all out in time. "I guess there's more than one crazy Nanny in this town," says Deb. But that's not all! In typical "scary movie" fashion as Deb and Haley start conversing, Carrie rises from the ground, about to hit them with an ax, but Dan shoots her. Is Jamie finally safe? Wow, a lot happened tonight and what was up with that ending? Is Carrie really dead or will she be wreaking havoc once again? Watch full episodes of One Tree Hill in our Online Video Guide show less
