One Tree Hill Episode Recap: "A Hand to Take Hold of the Scene" Season 6, Episode 14

This week's episode of One Tree Hill was all about taking that scary next step, whether it was Lucas and Peyton testing the waters of parenthood or a few different couples acting on their feelings. Chad Michael Murray also made his directorial debut in a pretty solid episode save for a few cheesy moments.

While he started off as a jerk, Julian's character has shown more charm and depth as the weeks have gone on. In the aftermath of the police arresting Jack's brother, he showed up to Brooke's house, coffee in hand for both girls, as a little something to kick-start their day. Julian reminds Sam, who's worried she can't find her friend, that he probably needs her right now. He also consoles Brooke who feels somewhat guilty for not reporting her attack before he went on to kill Quentin. Julian then gets to business or so he says. The two plan to have a business meeting to discuss the film's wardrobe, but Sam jokes that it's really a date for a different kind of business, her "lady business."

Peyton decides to see what she would look like preggers and after putting a basketball under her dress, realizes that she'll be with child on her wedding day. Not only is she worried that it's so "redneck" of them, but she's also stressing about how to tell Brooke. So she heads over to her BFF's to break the news but Sam makes it easy on her. She spills that Brooke and Julian are hot for each other and Peyton, who looks stunned, blurts out "I'm pregnant." Brooke starts crying but not tears of jealousy, more like tears of anxiety that she already put a corset in Peyton's 2nd "skinny girl" wedding dress. Brooke's actually ecstatic for the couple. And she's not the only one. Later on at the diner, Sam again spills the beans when Julian jokingly accuses Peyton of being jealous of him and Brooke by saying, "Dude get over yourself she's pregnant." As hard as it is for him to hear it he tells Peyton he's happy for them to which Peyton responds that if he breaks Brooke's heart, she'll break his face.

Still broken up, Millicent goes over to Mouth's to apologize but while he's mad at himself for driving her away, he's madder at her for what she did after that. He's packed up her stuff and tells her that he "wants to give it to a complete stranger like she did with her virginity." And then Mouth jabs the knife even farther into her heart by mentioning, "Have fun telling Brooke you slept with Owen."

Chase has a little crush on Mia and goes to ask her out by doing it awkwardly in front of those in the recording studio. She says she'd love to go out with him and then Chase tells the guy next to him, "Take that my friend she's totally into me." The funny thing was he still had his finger on the button and so he was informed, "She also totally just heard everything you said."

With Mouth already aware of the truth, Millicent had 1 person left to talk to. She walks in on Brooke stressing about Julian, going on about how you can't do something with your friend's ex. Right then Millie tells her that she slept with Owen and Brooke's immediate reaction is to tell her to get out. But she quickly retracts and instead consoles her.

To help give them a little practice, Haley drops off the kiddies, Jamie and Andre, for Lucas and Peyton to watch. And lucky for them they're hopped up on sugar. The best was when Lucas was all excited about having movies...and macaroni and glue arts and crafts...and most importantly, mousetrap! Who didn't love mousetrap when they were younger? Apparently the boys as they aren't too into it so they go on to play poker.

Brooke decides to go talk to Mouth and tells him he's a complete ass for thinking about messing around with Gigi. She also tells him that as hurt as he is, Millicent is feeling worse for losing the 2 things that matter most to her. And only one of those she can get back. Even though he can't get what happened out of his head, Brooke tells him that if he really loves her then he can decide that everything is still the same. Later that night Millie comes back, except this time she's drunk. She manages to say a few words before puking and passing out and when she wakes up she once again tells him he's sorry. He tells her he knows but when she suggests that maybe she should go he says that's probably best. Can't these two work things out?

Mia and Chase's double date with Nathan and Haley is a success. He even gets some good advice about dating a rock star. "If she ever meets a guy named Chris Keller, punch first, ask questions later." After some classic karaoke (cue the cheesy slow-mo shots), Chase asked Mia out on a second date. He also then goes back to kiss her. Meanwhile, Brooke and Julian's "business" date is going well too. They go over designs, drink wine, and even talk about their past. Brooke finds out they have more in common with regards to their parental relationships as Julian talks about his perennially disappointed father. They soon wrap up their conversation and Brooke flat out asks him what this night was. They pretty much decide that it has to be business so as to not complicate things but they can't hide their true feelings. They clearly want each other and so they finally go for it.

Another side story was that of Sam and Jack. She finally finds him as he's been avoiding home and Child Services. She even brings him a sandwich and tries to tell him that foster care isn't always so bad. The sweetest moment was when she talked about holding her own hand and pretending it was someone who actually cared. She then grabs his hand and says, "You got me."

At the end of their baby-sitting night, Peyton and Lucas are so pooped they actually passed out. Nate calls Lucas on the walkie talkie he had bought the boys, to tell him he had them home safe and to also congratulate his brother on becoming a father. They have a nice brotherly heart-to-heart and Nathan tells Lucas that parenting is about teamwork and that of course they'll be there for them.

Next week Dawson err, Dixon, is back! Who's excited??
