One Life to Live celebrates its 45th anniversary Monday, and is also celebrating a new beginning. New episodes will premiere as scheduled on Hulu and iTunes, and the show will also begin its limited 10-week run on OWN.

"I'm just glad that we can actually have an anniversary, that we're not having a funeral," star Kassie DePaiva, who plays Blair Cramer on the long-running soap, tells TVGuide.com. "Hopefully 45 years from now, somebody else will still be talking about One Life to Live."

The Oprah Winfrey Network has acquired the first 40 episodes of The Online Network's All My Children and One Life to Live, the network announced on Wednesday.

"These shows have proven to be very popular with a significant, loyal fan base, not to mention Oprah herself is a big fan," OWN President Erik Logan said. Premise: Agnes Nixon's classic soap about the tempestuous 'burb of Llanview, where secrets abound, mostly about the Lord and Buchanan clans. It premiered July 15, 1968, and was one of the first soaps to feature major black characters, as well as full-blown music and fantasy episodes. In 2005, Erika Slezak won her record sixth Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress for her role as the oft-wed Viki Lord Buchanan. Alums include Tommy Lee Jones, Ryan Phillipe, Roma Downey, Judith Light and Tom Berenger.
