April 26, 2007: “Oh Goody. Now the Fun Begins.” Season 1, Episode 6

Huh. I didn't think we'd ever get to meet the "fictional" Gavin Goddard so imagine my surprise when he emerges from Hannah's house. Although I was starting to warm up to Aubrey I'm happy with Nick's choice. And what did Hannah mean when she said, "It's not what you think." Just exactly what does Hannah think Nick's thinking? If that's really Gavin and he's really Sam's father I think we're all thinking the same thing: What the heck is going on? It can't be that simple and if it is, I won't be pleased. Oh wait, I know a simple way to answer this question. As so many of you have suggested, Nick should take a paternity test. That said, I think we'll have to wait until next season to find out exactly what she means. No, I don't know anything about the show being picked up, but as I mentioned a few days ago things are looking very good. In other huge news, Phil stepped foot outside his house. This was a very exciting development. I loved seeing him practice going outside. So funny. And I'm happy Pizza Girl was there for this momentous occasion. After last week I thought she'd given up on our boy but just when I thought she'd miss Phil's "coming out" party, good old Owen special-orders those pizzas. Owen. Dear Owen. What did he ever do to deserve this kind of hurt? I did enjoy how the suspense was built up over just where and when Owen would learn about his wife's betrayal. Although when Ikey realized Ray knew his little secret and had every intention of telling Owen, why didn't he say anything? Maybe he thought Big Cat wouldn't do it. But why not? Ray's running him and Eddie out of business to hurt Nick. Isn't Owen one of Nick's friends? Why wouldn't he want to hurt him, too? I still think he's evil but I think he's a necessary part of the equation. And he's kind of fun to hate. Eddie was hurting in a big way this week. He finally had it out with Nick and seemed to come to peace with Nick's desertion 10 years ago after accidentally pushing him out of a window. I guess that's the beginning and end of Best Friend Windows. I liked that these two crazy kids finally made up. It seems like Eddie is finally growing up and taking responsibility for his own life and happiness. And I think Janet is going to be a big part of that. I have such hopes for those two. Their kiss was sweet and Eddie catching Janet getting her twirl on made me laugh. Random thoughts: - What was up with that really fake, CGI-looking shot of Knight's Ridge at the end of the episode? - Alison seemed ok this week. She had a little gab time with our girls Hannah and Janet. My cold, cold heart is warming up to her. OK, not really. - Eddie has really grown on me. He had Owen's back big time after he found out about the affair. But where does that leave Ikey? - I might not mind seeing "word guy" and "numbers guy" fight over Hannah. We all know putting your two romantic leads together just leads to trouble. - Is Aubrey completely out of the picture now? Will she return from Berkeley? Your thoughts? show less
