Archival footage, dramatic reenactments featuring Tony winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson and remarks from family and friends tell the story of organic chemist Percy Julian (1899-1975). In 1936, Julian, the grandson of slaves, was named to head an industrial-chemistry research lab for Glidden Paints. Included: comments from his granddaughter Katherine Julian and chemist James Schoffner, who worked with Julian.
