A team of Wright Brothers experts explore how the Ohio bicycle mechanics got their “flying machines that would change the world” aloft, then build a replica of one and try to get it to fly. The first thing the Wrights did was to divide their task into its three basic components: lift, control and propulsion, and work on each separately. That's what the latter-day team does as well, beginning with glider test flights at Kitty Hawk, N.C.
