Exploring what might have happened to a U.S. Navy bomber that disappeared over the Bering Sea during World War II. Bomber 31 took off from the Aleutians in March 1944 on a mission to attack an outpost in Japan, but U.S. authorities didn't hear word of it until 1999, when the U.S. embassy in Moscow received photos of the wreckage. This hour follows a U.S. recovery team as it seeks to learn what happened to Bomber 31 in 1944, and what happened to the wreckage after the Soviets found it in 1962.
