Following archaeologists and scholars as they get to the bottom---literally---of a dynasty that ruled from the city of Copan (in present-day Honduras) from A.D. 426 to 820. The dynasty's founder, Yax K'uk Mo (whose skeleton is seen in the program), presided over a highly advanced civilization of astute astronomers. But their astronomy had a dark purpose: to track the planet Venus, which represented their god of ritual warfare and bloody sacrifice. Hector Elizondo narrates.
