Season 27, Episode 18 Secrets of Lost Empires: China Bridge

“Secrets of Lost Empires” concludes with the construction of a facsimile 12th-century Chinese “rainbow” bridge near Shanghai. The graceful span is a replica of one depicted in a Song dynasty scroll painting, and is “woven” from short wooden beams by a team that includes bridge engineers from China and MIT, and an American timber framer. Also on hand: a historian from McGill University in Montreal. Stacy Keach narrates.
