Nero Wolfe

Rex Stout's brilliant, portly sleuth solves crimes by analyzing clues gathered by others, including his assistant, Archie Goodwin. A lover of good mysteries (but not as much as orchids and fine food), the eccentric, reclusive Wolfe was first played by William Conrad (`Cannon'). The character was revived in a 2001 A&E series with Maury Chaykin and Timothy Hutton.
