Season 34, Episode 4 Soul of the Elephant

First Aired: October 14, 2015

The discovery in Botswana of two dead bull elephants with their ivory tusks intact—which means they died of natural causes and not from poachers—leads wildlife filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert to re-create the lives the elephants would have led. The effort takes them from one end of Botswana's Selinda Reserve, which is home to more than 7000 elephants, to the other, as they capture scenes of everyday elephant life, including a mother teaching its offspring a lesson; and elephants snoring.
