Animal metamorphosis is explored. Included: salamanders, which can regenerate body parts that are lost to predators; tadpoles, which become frogs (and, if they don't, it might be because they were eaten by larvae that become dragonflies); redwing blackbirds, whose brains change shape as a part of their mating rituals; and, of course, caterpillars, which require the aid of ants to become butterflies.
