Season 25, Episode 1 Malice Aforethought
First Aired: April 3, 2005
The series' 25th season begins with “Malice Aforethought,” a two-part tale of adultery, gossip and murder centering on a philandering 1920s English country physician named Edmund Bickleigh (Ben Miller), his domineering wife, Julia (Barbara Flynn), and the artistic and very fetching young Madeleine Cranmere (Megan Dodds), who has just moved into their quiet coastal town. Julia is clearly in Dr. Bickleigh's way, and in Part 1, he happens upon a slow-acting pharmacological solution to his problem.
