And you thought Tessa might never find anything to like about the suburbs. Turns out wealthy neighbors with connections aren't such a bad thing to have around when you're the birthday girl.
In TVGuide.com's exclusive sneak peek at this week's Suburgatory, Dallas (Cheryl Hines) learns that Tessa's (Jane Levy) 16th birthday party plans include two buddies, pizza, a movie... and that's just not how things are done in Chatswick.
When Suburgatory's Tessa (Jane Levy) turns the big 1-6, the ABC comedy borrows a page from MTV's My Super Sweet 16 and throws an unforgettable birthday bash. "She wants to have a low-key party with just two friends, pizza and rent a movie," Levy says.
But when Dallas (Cheryl Hines) discovers Tessa's plans, she takes matters into her own hands to throw the party of a lifetime. "It's over the top," adds Levy, who never had a Sweet 16 party in real life but...

No, you're right the "moral" won't stick.... Here! has pinklit a second, nine-episode season of "the dark, sexually charged" sudser The Lair, to begin unspooling in the fall.
Whether he's keeping 'em honest on his nightly newsmagazine, Anderson Cooper 360 (10 pm/ET on CNN), or tackling personal demons amid the horrors of Iraq and Katrina in his new book, Dispatches from the Edge, Anderson Cooper has a style all his own.
TV Guide: I spent the weekend reading your book and let me tell you, it's pretty dark. Working out some issues here, huh?Cooper: [Laughs] Well, yeah... I guess.
TV Guide: Of course, between covering wars and natural disasters, this has been a tough year for you.Cooper:
Commander in ChiefWell, well, well, Geena Davis, it's quite a week you're having. Winning the Golden Globe for best actress in a drama, almost single-handedly saving a submarine full of American sailors from certain death, bringing the world back from the brink of nuclear war with Korea... you must think you're pretty hot stuff, huh? To quote the first daughter, "Don't let it go to your head." I must confess, though, that after two nights of watching 24's insufferable President Logan in action, I appreciate the level head Saint Mac brings to any international crisis.
