Premise: The fledgling Fox network presented the lighter side of life at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with Oscar winner George C. Scott as newly elected President Samuel Arthur Tresch. This marked Scott's return to series television 23 years after his first regular TV stint on `East Side/West Side,' for which he received an Emmy nomination. In 1994, Scott had another small-screen run with CBS's short-lived police drama `Traps.'
