Mr. I Magination on CBS

Famous characters from history and literature came magically to life with help from a kindly train engineer played by Paul Tripp, the creator of the classic children's story `Tubby the Tuba.' The Peabody-winning series featured kids portraying the likes of Christopher Columbus, George Washington and Betsy Ross. Young actors Walter Matthau and Richard Boone made appearances, and Yul Brynner directed several episodes.
