Monty Python Star Returns

Terry Jones will forever be identified as a member of the outrageous British comedy troupe, Monty Python's Flying Circus. He's the man who delivered the magical line "Spam, spam, spam!" Jones says that Python's surreal humor was often best played in a historically accurate setting, as in the films Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Life of Brian. His new History Channel series, Terry Jones' Medieval Lives, tells the true stories behind many of the iconic medieval myths of the past. Premise: A highly influential cult favorite starring the British comedy troupe that offered `something completely different' in the way of offbeat sketches, surreal animation, sight gags, satiric songs and bizarre characters. The show premiered in England in 1969, but didn't find its way to the U.S. until '74. With its zany sensibilities, the series paved the way for many others. After it ended, movies followed---some of them classic.
