Premise: Set in 1944 Illinois, 9-year-old Molly McIntire (Maya Ritter), whose father is serving overseas during World War II, develops a close bond with an English girl named Emily (Tory Green). Together, the two young friends make contributions to the war effort on the home front. Helen McIntire: Molly Ringwald. Dr. James McIntire: David Aaron Baker. Directed by Joyce Chopra.
