Expect cries of "Remember Philadelphia" from the National League dugout this evening in St. Louis as the NL attempt to get their first Classic victory since 1996 in the City of Brotherly Love. Of course, there was that 2002 matchup in Milwaukee that MLB execs chose to end in a tie, which failed to please fans in attendance and watching around the country. The criticism baseball took for that decision may have been the impetus to not cut short last year's 15-inning marathon that took 4 hours and 50 minutes — an All-Star record.

Marathon All-Star Game Blasts a Nielsen Home Run

Tuesday night's 15-inning Major League Baseball All-Star Game gave Fox something to cheer about. The Midsummer Classic drew 14.5 million viewers, the most since 2002, which had 14.7. (That was the year of the dreaded 7-7 tie, which lead to the change in format that gives the winning league home-field advantage in the World Series.)
