The 82nd edition of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game — battered by criticism about the lack of stars — suffered a lack of viewers too.
The game, aka the "Midsummer Classic," attracted barely 10.08 million fans in prime time, according to preliminary Nielsen figures. Pending final numbers, it may be the smallest viewership the game has gotten since black-and-white televisions dominated living rooms — or ever.

In the season opener, Peter and Neal try to protect New York's banks from a sophisticated thief known as the Architect, a crook who has successfully knocked off banks in several other cities. The duo's best-laid plans don't get off to a great start, however, when bank alarms across the city sound at the same time.

Expect cries of "Remember Philadelphia" from the National League dugout this evening in St. Louis as the NL attempt to get their first Classic victory since 1996 in the City of Brotherly Love. Of course, there was that 2002 matchup in Milwaukee that MLB execs chose to end in a tie, which failed to please fans in attendance and watching around the country. The criticism baseball took for that decision may have been the impetus to not cut short last year's 15-inning marathon that took 4 hours and 50 minutes — an All-Star record.
