The Cast of Modern Family

The Emmys were held on a Monday night this year for the first time since 1976, but apparently that didn't deter people from tuning in.

Although the telecast was down about 10 percent from last year's show, this year's Seth Meyers-hosted outing was the second-highest rated Emmys of the past eight years. read more

I can't believe we already lost a beloved character on True Blood! Please give me some happier scoop about the final season. — May

How about some new blood? You'll soon meet a chiseled new vamp who gets pulled into the H-vamp war. And when he sets his eyes on one lucky Bon Temps lady, he'll prove to be just as good a lover as he is a fighter. Although the object of his affection is initially a bit heartsore and unsure about entering into a new relationship, she eventually lets the good times roll when they get down and dirty on a pool table.

Is it too early to ask about Homeland's new season? I just have to know what the show is going to do without Brody! — Margaret

Question: Let's talk 24: Live Another Day. What are your thoughts on the season so far? I have to say, I'm loving it! The two-hour opener wasn't the best, and I'm not thrilled about the Chloe with the dragon tattoo, but it's been getting progressively better each week, and it's starting to feel like the 24 that I used to love (i.e., up to Season 5.) By the end of the original series, they had lost what made it great: the intriguing peripheral characters, politics and side-stories, and completely focused on indestructible Jack and his band of disposable supporting players. But this season he's found a worthy sidekick in Kate, we have all the drama around Heller and his team, the Russians lurking in the background, and I'm really digging where they're going with the hipster CIA tech. Forget Emily, how will Victoria handle David's return on Revenge— Micah
David won't be Victoria's first concern. That honor belongs to Emily, since she put Victoria in the psych ward. "[Victoria] takes stock in the horrible things that Emily has done and the chaos she has rained down on the Grayson family," executive producer Aaron Harberts told my colleague Robyn Ross. "She's going to be pissed and she'll come out swinging. As Emily is trying to create a new, more positive life for herself... Victoria is going to be coming up behind her." But David will eventually be caught in the middle of that battle. "He's going to cause a lot of problems because he's at a point where these two women's lives intersect," Harberts says.

I'm sad that this is going to be the final season of True Blood. Do you have anything to make me feel better? — Carrie
Yes, but it may not make you feel better. When the HBO drama returns, the Hep-V-infected vampires that were poised to attack Bon Temps arrive and the bloodbath quickly ensues. Unfortunately, the casualties are not just redshirts. In fact, one character's fate is so jaw-dropping that you'll spend the rest of the episode wondering if what you just watched was a dream. It's not, which clearly means all bets are off in this final season.

ABC's sexy summer guilty pleasure is back!

Mistresses returns Monday at 10/9c, picking up eight months after the events of the finale, in which Savi (Alyssa Milano) coded at the hospital after getting into a horrific car accident.
