Premise: A popular sitcom based on the radio hit about a wisecracking English teacher, her interaction with students and faculty (particularly the bellowing principal, Osgood Conklin) and her romantic quest to land the hunky (but largely indifferent) biology teacher, Philip Boynton. Miss Brooks taught at Madison High, but transferred to a nearby private elementary school at the start of the 1955 season. In a 1956 movie based on the series, Mr. Boynton finally proposed.
