ABC's Tuesdays-at-10 woes continue.
Mind Games premiered Tuesday to a 3.6 million viewers and a 1.1 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, on par with Lucky 7's and Killer Women's equally dismal debuts in the slot this season. The drama followed a special Tuesday episode of The Bachelor(8.1 million, 2.4), which was even with its Monday numbers.

Even in a season distinguished by insta-duds like Lucky 7 and Betrayal, ABC hits a new low with Mind Games (Tuesday, 10/9c), an inexplicably and ridiculously convoluted drama which achieves the rare trick of making Christian Slater look like a master of understated acting. He plays an ex-con who teams with his frenetic, bipolar brother (Steve Zahn in an eye-poppingly cartoonish performance), an expert in all human behaviors but his own, to start a firm that specializes in elaborate psychological manipulations to achieve their clients' aims.

The polar vortex is making it a tough season across the U.S., but it's especially brutal in the Windy City, where in January temperatures averaged 15.1 degrees and 33.5 inches of snow fell (the city's third-highest total on record). "It's even taken the die-hard producers who live here by surprise," says Peter Jankowski, the president of Wolf Films, which makes NBC's Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. "When our fire consultants, who work for the department here, have to run inside between takes, you know it's cold."
ABC's partnership with Marvel is continuing at a good pace. On Friday's Television Critics Association winter TV previews, ABC entertainment head Paul Lee announced that the character of Lady Sif from the Thor films will cross over to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Christian Slater has married his girlfriend of three years, Brittany Lopez, People reports.
Slater, 44, wed Lopez in an impromptu ceremony at the Coral Gables, Fla., courthouse on Monday. The two reportedly had gone to the courthouse to get their marriage license and then decided to tie the knot. The court clerk snapped a photo of them kissing shortly afterward.
