Mickey Mouse Shorts
He's never looked younger! Those terrific new but vintage-looking Mickey Mouse shorts that are currently airing on Disney Channel have already won three Emmys — what better way to celebrate the little guy's 85th birthday than with a super-duper extended one? On Monday, Nov. 18 (8/7c) the channel will air Potatoland, a seven-minute cartoon that finds Mickey, Donald and Goofy on a road trip to Idaho to fulfill Goofy's lifelong dream of visiting what he fondly remembers as Potatoland theme park.
It's a question that has long baffled even the most diehard Disney fans: Is Goofy a dog or not? And, if not, then what the heck is he? The Walt Disney Company is about to have some fun with this decades-old mystery in "Dog Show," the latest in an Emmy-winning series of new but vintage-looking Mickey Mouse shorts airing on the Disney Channel.
The folks at Disney Studios are putting a new — and by that we mean old — coat of paint on the one and only Mickey Mouse. Starting Friday, the company's 85-year-old mascot will star in a series of brand-new yet vintage-looking Disney Channel cartoon shorts (8:30pm/7:30c), appearing much as he did when he was created back in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks—except in dazzling color. Expect crazy, mind-blowing plots, slapstick gags and rubber-hose bodies, plus a surprisingly spunky rodent.
