Millions of baby boomers spelled along (M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e!) watching this family favorite, and a generation of young boys likely took an entirely new view of girls because of the appealing Annette Funicello. The Emmy-nominated mix of cartoons, serials, themed routines and antics of the mouse-hatted Mouseketeers was one of early TV's most wholesome, innocent offerings. It had a 1977 syndicated revival, `The New Mickey Mouse Club.'
