Season 1, Episode 3 Michael Palin's Hemingway Adventure
First Aired: May 10, 2000
Part 3 (of four). A visit to Key West, Fla., where Papa lived in the '30s; Uganda, where he was involved in two plane crashes---in 48 hours; and Venice, where he read his obituary. In Key West, just about everyone Palin sees looks like Hemingway (his visit coincides with an annual lookalike contest). In Uganda, he tours the crash sites. And in Venice (where Hemingway repaired after the crashes---the second of which was serious enough to warrant the news of his demise), Palin goes duck hunting.
