A top-notch cast is the main reason to give this Jerry Bruckheimer-produced medical drama, which takes place in a Miami trauma unit, a look. Jeremy Northam stars as a former military surgeon newly arrived in Miami from Baltimore. He's thrown into action in the intense pilot when the unit's chief (Andre Braugher) inexplicably walks off the job during an operation. Rounding out the superb cast are Mike Vogel, Lana Parrilla, Elisabeth Harnois and Omar Gooding. While the series doesn't break any new ground, its compelling, likable characters should provide viewers with sufficient reasons to return to this lively unit.

How much of a relief was it to know that Lafayette isn't dead? Of course, being chained up in a vampire's basement and watching another human get eaten alive isn't much of an alternative, but you can't have everything. And even though he hasn't been to work for a while, Lafayette probably wouldn't recognize Merlotte's if he came back tonight, especially after Maryann works the bar's usual customers into a frenzy that Sam isn't likely to forget.

American networks have made a habit of swiping and remaking British programs, but the latest import from across the pond will be 100 percent authentic. Merlin (premieres Sunday, 8 pm/ET, NBC), loosely based on the Arthurian legends of the famed sorcerer, arrives stateside as the first British drama to air on a U.S. network — un-retouched, un-recast — since The New Avengers more than 30 years ago.
"I think we probably played a fast one on NBC!" star Bradley James tells TVGuide.com. "It's probably quite difficult to ...

Is there any indication that Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is going to adjust her stories because of all of the recent negative feedback? — Heidi
MATT: I doubt that Rhimes will alter any master plans, especially when it comes to the Izzie/Denny "romance" which, though polarizing, seems destined to serve some greater purpose. Now, speaking of "negative feedback," I've got at least one source telling me that T.R. Knight's apparent disenchantment with Grey's might not necessarily result in him exiting the series early. Wouldn't it be refreshing to see cooler heads prevail?
The John Scott character on Fringe is such a joyful enigma; maybe one of you can convince the producers to bring him back from the dead? — Susan
MICKEY: [Peeking out from behind a giant Chinese fan] You know who else is a joyful enigma, Susan? Me! When I asked my friends o' Fringe about John Scott's possible reanimation ...
