In the season finale of Medium, Mexican drug cartels, dead cops and dirty federal agents intermingle with brain tumors, arguments and lunch notes. This was a hard episode to watch with the blood and violence, but also for the sadness of Allison's condition.

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here, Janice Dickenson
I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
8 pm/ET NBC
Do you ever wish some "celebrities," like Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag and Janice Dickinson, would just go away? Well now they are. Sort of. In this reincarnation of the 2003 series that aired on ABC, 10 shameless famous people are dropped in the heart of the Costa Rican rain forest to have their survival skills tested in a series of challenges voted on by viewers. The C-listers featured on the previous version included Cris Judd (J.Lo's ex), Bruce Jenner and Melissa Rivers. And hey, we haven't seen much of Cris Judd lately, so maybe one day "Speidi" really will go away. We can only hope!&

Johnny Galecki, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Haysbert
CBS announced eight brand-new series for the 2009-10 TV season, including ones starring Chris O'Donnell, LL Cool J, Julianna Margulies and Alex O'Loughlin, and swooped in and picked up NBC's castoff Medium.
The Eye ordered a full 22-episode season of Medium, slotting it after Ghost Whisperer on Fridays. As CBS entertainment boss Nina Tassler says, "If Ghost Whisperer and Numbers had an offspring, Medium would be it."
CBS also has tinkered with its Monday lineup in unexpected ways. How I Met Your Mother will now ...

Chuck, Friday Night Lights and Medium
NBC's 2009-10 schedule effectively cleaves the TV season in half, meaning that some shows will premiere in the fall and then vanish, while others will not return or premiere until midseason.
That means that recent flourishes of good news for Chuck and Friday Night Lights have been tempered by news likely to disappoint the shows' fans.
How so? Though Chuck was picked up for a third season, the action-comedy's fervent fans will have to wait until midseason (after the Winter Olympics, specifically) to get their fix. NBC boss Ben Silverman said in a Tuesday conference call, however, that Chuck's cast will not be whittled down.
And while NBC recently trumpeted news of Friday Night Lights' two-season renewal, Coach Taylor won't call another play until ...

A Nosferatu-masked killer haunts Allison to lead off dream in this week's episode of Medium. Graced once again with the lovely Anjelica Huston in a return visit as Cynthia Keener, the private investigator, this was one heck of a fun show. As promised, Rumer Willis also appears in this episode as Bethany, all grown up and angry. And the surprise guest star of the night is the strapping Balthazar Getty as Nosferatu/Christopher Sypes.

Since Heroes had its season finale two weeks ago, NBC has been filling the empty hour with extra Mediums. And I for one couldn't be happier. First, the conclusion of last week's two-parter in which Allison's new boss' son is on a killing spree, and Mr. Lydecker is trying to squash the truth from getting out.

As if a regular one-hour episode of Medium doesn't pack enough of a wallop, tonight's two-hour special was filled to the rim with deliciously brewed plot twists and tangy story lines. Three incredible guest actors graced us with their presence and made this episode truly star-studded. And the big news is that Allison quits her job with the DA and takes a leap of faith into the corporate corner. Will it work out for her?

The future looks bright for Allison DuBois.
On the eve of its Monday "infront" presentation of 2009-10 TV season plans, NBC renewed Medium for a sixth season, says the Hollywood Reporter. An NBC rep has no comment on the report.
