Premise:
The popular---at times controversial---`All in the Family' spin-off headlined by the anti-Archie Bunker: the indomitable, outspoken and passionately liberal Maude Findlay. Politics, of course, was a heated topic in many episodes. But the most memorable ones addressed such social issues as alcoholism, mental illness and abortion with intelligence and compassion. Bea Arthur received Emmy nominations for several years, finally winning in the 1976-77 season as Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
