Question: Looking at the Best Drama shortlist from last year as an example, do you think many of the usual suspects like Mad Men and Breaking Bad may have their best days behind them (maybe not so much objectively as much as in short-attentioned minds of many voters), along with Homeland seeming to have edged ever-so-slightly into ludicrousness (get pacemaker serial number and induce heart attack, all without Chloe opening a socket), Downton Abbey now having a "perennial obligatory nominee" vibe, and Boardwalk Empire maybe not even deserving to make the final cut anymore, could this be the year that Game of Thrones finally breaks out of the fantasy ghetto and gets enough votes to have its name called when the big envelope is opened?

Gary Carr will portray the first black character on Downton Abbey during its upcoming fourth season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Carr, who will play a "charming and charismatic young jazz singer," joins returning regulars Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Maggie Smith, Jim Carter and Shirley MacLaine. Some of the other new faces for Season 4 include Tom Cullen, a new love interest for Mary (Dockery), Dame Harriet Walter as Lady Shackleton, an old friend of the Dowager Countess, Nigel Harman as a visiting valet Green, Julian Ovenden as aristocrat Charles Blake, and Joanna David as the Duchess of Yeovil.

Question: I just read that Mike Kelley, the creator of Revenge, is leaving the show after this season. I will admit that this season isn't as good as the first, but it's OK. There are reports that Mike Kelley wanted shorter seasons, like on cable, with 13 episodes instead of the regular 22 moving forward. Since that wasn't going to happen, he left. What do you think? Do you think the show would work better with a shorter episode order? Also, if Kelley knew the show wouldn't work with longer seasons, why didn't he speak up the first season? Do you think someone else stepping in will freshen the show a bit? I will admit the time I started to take a step back and realize the writers were going too far was when they revealed Victoria had yet another child. Really?! Did you think the writers went overboard with that storyline in particular too? I also don't agree with the assertion that Scandal has replaced Revenge.
